The Cougar Parent Organization is a group of parents devoted to the team with the sole purpose of supporting our swimmers while taking some of the administrative burden off of the coaches. Our coaches work hard in and out of the pool. All of our coaches work during the day at other jobs and come to coach our children after their work day is over - not to mention on the weekends! Our goal each year is to help facilitate communication and provide assistance to everyone on the team - parents, swimmers, and the coaches - whenever we can so that every family can have the best possible experience.

Why are we fundraising and where does the money go? The profit that is cleared from our hosted meets goes into the CPO Fund to support the team. The money we make on our other fundraising activities and the sale of the specialized Cougar clothing (bathing caps, towels, car magnets and other items) also goes into this fund.

At the end of the season, the Cougar Parent Organization provides a small scholarship to the graduating seniors based upon the number of years of high school participation on the Cougar Aquatic Team. The cost for the swimmers at both the Junior and Senior Awards dinners is subsidized by the Parent Organization. Additionally the CPO helps cover some of the travel expenses of the coaches.

The CPO has open positions, short and long-term!

We are in need of:
Senior Slide Show Coordinator - a graduating or senior swimmer or a parent of same, to collect photos from this season (of Senior National, Senior 1 and Senior Prep swimmers, coaches & events), and prepare a fun slideshow for the Senior Dinner in April
Volunteer Coordinator - a parent familiar with Sign-Up Genius that can assist with coordinating the team’s volunteer activities (hosted meets, dinners, etc)
Board Members - The CPO is looking for parents of younger swimmers (especially Juniors, Bronze & Silver) to get involved and bring your enthusiasm, ideas and energy to the team. We would like ALL groups to be represented on the board; this is a great way to influence and guide the team’s activities and convey your group’s concerns and issues.
